We understand how stressful the shelter environment may be on an animal. To help overcome this stress, the shelter depends on volunteers to help give the animals the extra attention they need to feel happy! Volunteers are encouraged to take dogs into the yards to play (weather permitting,) to work on commands, be brushed and loved on! We also have a large grassy yard and parking lot available for on-leash walking. The human interaction that the dogs get through this volunteer socialization helps prevent aggressive behavior as well as depression in the animals.
