Daily tasks at the Maryland Food Bank’s main warehouse include repacking donated food on our conveyor system, packing assorted food kits, packing health and beauty kits, and checking expiration dates. While groups of 15 to 25 people are preferred, individuals and smaller groups are always welcome. Remember to schedule at least one week in advance!

Requirements:

•Warehouse volunteers must be at least 18 years of age. Younger individuals may participate in our youth opportunities.
• Volunteers should dress comfortably and wear closed-toe shoes. For the warehouse, please dress in layers and according to the weather as it is not climate-controlled.Open-toe shoes are strictly prohibited.
• Volunteers must be able to read and understand product labels.
• Volunteers must be able to lift up to 25lbs. without assistance.
• Volunteers should expect to be standing and active for a minimum of 3 hours.
• Use of cell phones, iPods, audio devices, headphones, and earbuds is prohibited in the warehouse.
