Root for Trees Program - City of Edmonton

The 2019 Root for Trees season is officially open for bookings!  Our planting season will run from Wednesday, May 22, 2019, and continue until mid-October.  Root for Trees events run Tuesdays to Saturdays. All events must be booked at least 4 weeks in advance in order to allow us the time to prepare for your event.

Once again, we plan to host both Guided and Self-Guided planting events. We also have many exciting special events in store.  Whether you are a returning volunteer, or have never planted with us before, we hope to see you at one of our planting events this year!

To learn more about our programs, or to sign up for a planting event, please select the Volunteer Opportunities tab at the top of the page.  If you require assistance, or have specific questions about our events, please email us at [email protected].

Root for Trees is an enhanced tree planting program run by the City of Edmonton, and works to preserve and expand our urban forest through partnerships with community groups, corporations, and individual residents.  Edmontonians are invited to sign up and participate in one of our tree planting events, where we’ll provide all the materials required for an exciting day in nature! With an annual planting target of 45,000 native trees, shrubs, and wildflowers, Root for Trees aims to achieve the overall goal of doubling the size of Edmonton's urban forest!
