Please note: Our Guided Tree Planting program is fully booked for the remainder of the season. Please come back in February to register for an event in 2017.

For our guided events, we require a minimum group size of 10 volunteers. On the day of your event, our program leaders will meet your group on-site and provide you with shovels, plants, gloves, and other materials required for a fun day of planting! They will also give your group a planting demonstration, safety talk, and provide you with information on plant species and Edmonton's forest. They will be available for the duration of your event to help out and answer any questions that your group may have.

Once you have booked a date, the Root for Trees Program Supervisor will be in contact with you to provide a list of pre-determined planting locations and discuss other logistics.

Once you have booked a date, the Root for Trees Program Supervisor will be in contact with you to provide a list of pre-determined planting locations and discuss other logistics.

Guided Planting Shifts

Guided Planting Shifts are led by a Root for Trees Program Leader at one of our planting sites. They will meet you at the planting site, and bring all the materials you need for a successful planting event, including plant material, shovels, and gloves. You must have at least 10 volunteers to participate in this program. Maximum group size is 100 volunteers. To register for a guided shift, please select the Volunteer Opportunities tab at the top of the page, then click on the Guided Planting Events icon. Once you have registered, the Program Supervisor will contact you to confirm the details of your booking.
