Dallas Symphony Orchestra
The Dallas Symphony Orchestra (DSO) is the largest performing arts organization in the Southwest United States and has been a cornerstone of the cultural landscape of Dallas since its founding in 1900. Each season, the DSO serves more than 230,000 patrons, including 35,000 children, through more than 200 concerts and over 20 signature educational and community engagement programs. An additional 2 million people experience the Dallas Symphony annually through broadcasts and recording distribution.
At the start of the 2018/19 Season, Fabio Luisi was announced as the next Music Director of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. Alongside this artistic leadership announcement, the DSO launched a new, comprehensive strategic plan to broaden the orchestra’s relevance to the community and solidify its position as one of the world’s greatest orchestras.
While maintaining the highest level of artistic quality inside the concert hall, the DSO has recently expanded its outreach with new education programs, a revitalized commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion and the rollout of countless new initiatives designed to enhance the audience experience. Key initiatives of the strategic plan include the Institute for Educational Advancement, Revitalization of the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center and Great Music for Everyone.
