Spectrum Autism Support Group – English Majors Internship Track
Unpaid | Flexible Schedule | In-Person & Hybrid Opportunities Available

Spectrum Autism Support Group offers a rewarding internship experience for college students pursuing a degree in English, communications, or related fields. Interns gain valuable hands-on experience supporting the mission of a nonprofit that serves individuals and families impacted by autism.

Internship Opportunities for English Majors May Include:

• Content Development & Storytelling – Write compelling articles, impact stories, and family spotlights for newsletters, websites, and fundraising materials.
• Grant Writing & Donor Communications – Assist with the preparation of grant applications, donor thank-you letters, and annual reports.
• Social Media & Digital Engagement – Create engaging social media content and assist with online campaigns that raise awareness and support.
• Newsletter & Email Marketing – Draft and edit email campaigns that inform and engage volunteers, donors, and community members.
• Editing & Proofreading – Review internal and external documents for clarity, grammar, and tone consistency.
• Event Support & Promotion – Assist with messaging, signage, and promotional materials for Spectrum's events and outreach initiatives.

Ideal Candidates:

• English or communications majors seeking internship credit or professional development
• Strong writers and editors with attention to detail
• Passionate about advocacy, inclusion, and nonprofit work
• Dependable, curious, and eager to contribute to meaningful community impact

Internships are unpaid but provide rich, hands-on learning experience, mentorship, and a valuable opportunity to apply classroom knowledge in real-world settings. Spectrum proudly supports interns from Georgia Gwinnett College, Gwinnett Tech, and other institutions seeking meaningful community engagement.
