Spectrum Autism Support Group – Public Health Internship Track

Spectrum Autism Support Group offers a dynamic internship opportunity for students pursuing a degree in Public Health or related fields. Interns will gain valuable experience contributing to programs and initiatives that promote health, inclusion, and well-being for individuals and families impacted by autism.

Internship Opportunities for Public Health Majors May Include:

• Program Evaluation & Impact Analysis – Support the assessment of Spectrum’s programs by collecting and analyzing data related to community health outcomes.
• Health Education & Resource Development – Assist in developing materials that support families with navigating autism-related services and wellness resources.
• Community Outreach & Advocacy – Participate in planning and implementing outreach efforts to connect underserved populations with Spectrum’s services.
• Event Support & Accessibility Planning – Help ensure Spectrum’s events are safe, inclusive, and meet the needs of diverse families and individuals.
• Data Management & Reporting – Maintain accurate records and assist in preparing reports for grants, community partners, and board presentations.
• Volunteer Training & Engagement – Contribute to the development of volunteer education materials that promote inclusive practices and safety.

Ideal Candidates:

• Public Health or human services majors seeking academic credit or field experience
• Passionate about health equity, community engagement, and disability inclusion
• Organized, proactive, and comfortable working with diverse populations
• Interested in gaining hands-on experience in a nonprofit setting

Internships are unpaid but provide rich, hands-on learning experience, mentorship, and a valuable opportunity to apply classroom knowledge in real-world settings. Spectrum proudly supports interns from Georgia Gwinnett College, Gwinnett Tech, and other institutions seeking meaningful community engagement.
